McG's action flick "The Means War" is still happening, but it won't happen with Sam Worthington, who was attached to the project for a while. The "Avatar" star is now gone, and the role is going to someone else. That guy is Tom Hardy, according to Vulture. Word is Hardy has signed on to star in "War," which follows two best friends as they launch into an escalating war when they both fall in love with the same woman. The woman is Reese Witherspoon. Chris Pine plays the other guy. Bradley Cooper was also once attached to the film, but he dropped it as well. Hardy ("RocknRolla") can currently be seen in "Inception."

Reese Witherspoon has a momentary scare as she rides horseback while shooting 'Water For Elephants.' But if you look at the rest of the thumbnails, she seems like she has things pretty under control.

Click on the pic and view larger version
Robert Pattinson is now busy shooting for Water for Elephants and if reports are to be believed then his co-star Reese Witherspoon has developed a crush on him. Well it was very recently that Resse introduced her two children Ava and Deacon to Robert and made their day. Now it has been stated that both of them are bonding pretty fast and things are getting all mushy mushy. Reports are also flying in how Robert complimented Resse on her looks and made her all blush. Resse on the other hand is in love with Rob’s hair. She also thinks that he has this charming quality and is extremely adorable. Well we are hardly shocked by the news that Robert has impressed Resse. With that handsome looks, eyes that are hungry for love and a wicked sense of humour, it would have been surprising if Resse did not find Rob charming. Robert is famous for getting along with his female co-stars famously thus making a lot of tongues wagging in the process. Even his co-star in Twilight Ashley Greene labeled him as one big flirt. Well as long as the ladies are not complaining, we find no reason to complain either.
Reese talking about the movie and a further quote from Robert Pattinson.
“It’s set in
the Depression era, when circuses traveled by train and this guy runs
away and jumps on a train to be a hobo and by accident, he doesnt
realize it’s a circus train. He becomes part of this world because he
has no life to go back to and ends up falling in love with the
ringmaster’s wife, played by Reese Witherspoon. The ringmaster just
happens to be kind of a schizophrenic as well. He’s a most charismatic
and terrifying person. He’s Christoph Waltz from Inglourious Basterds. I
did a read through yesterday with him. He was sitting right next to me.
It was a little terrifying.”

Reese Offered A Role In Paul
Thomas Anderson’s Untitled Relgion Pic? Shooting Starting In June?
Things have been pretty quiet on the Paul Thomas Anderson front and his
new untitled religion picture, affectionately known as “The Master” by
fans.
Loosely — or not so loosely — based on the life of Scientology founder
L. Ron Hubbard (read our review of a very early draft of the script), we
know that Philip Seymour Hoffman will play the messianic lead, Jeremy
Renner will play Freddie Sutton, the drifter character that becomes The
Master’s right hand man, and we know that Universal passed on the
project and River Road is footing the bill (the company that produced
Terrence Malick’s “Tree Of Life” and Doug Liman’s “Fair Game”; Honcho
Bill Pohlad is also an investor in distributor Apparition, so don’t be
surprised if the film ends up there).
Now comes a few more details from the latest issue of Production Weekly.
According to their intel, Reese Witherspoon has been offered a role in
the picture and the production is eyeing a June start date. Producing is
John Lesher, Pohlad and Jo Anne Sellar.
June is next week if it actually starts on the first. Could the
production really be this ready to go and no one’s really reported that
yet?
Zero further details are given, but we would assume that if Witherspoon
takes a role, it’s one of the the Master’s daughters who acts as his
caretakers and vigilant lieutenants (possibly the one named Mary-Sue).
Witherspoon is also attached to McG’s “This Means War,” which is
supposed to start shooting in July, so that could be a potential
conflict if she even agrees to the role (she’s also currently shooting
“Water For Elephants”). However, all of the daughters’ roles in the
draft that floated around earlier this year were pretty tiny. Sure, it
was an early script and things must have certainly changed, but we can’t
imagine it’s been completely deconstructed.
There is one small role of a prostitute who also hooks up with Renner’s
character, but that role, while reoccurring throughout, does feel pretty
small too. Witherspoon can be pretty commanding when she needs to be —
her company is called Type A productions after all — and some have joked
she’s not that far removed from the Tracy Flick character she portrayed
in “Election,” so we think she would be pretty good for the key daughter
who oversees her father’s business and best interests.
But again, it is just an offer. She could easily turn it down, there
were some salacious bits with the daughter in that early draft, we’ll
just have to wait and see and hope this report uncovers more info.

Woody Allen has nominated Cate Blanchett and Reese Witherspoon as two actresses he’d be keen to work with in the future. ‘These are two actresses that I would like to work with, because I think they’re both very talented,’ Allen said. ‘But I don’t know them. I’ve never had the opportunity to speak with them.’ Allen was in Cannes where his latest tale You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger premiered on Saturday. He missed Blanchett by only a couple of days: she was at Cannes on Thursday for Robin Hood, in which she stars with Russell Crowe. Allen’s new film features Naomi Watts, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Gemma Jones and Freida Pinto.
Reese Witherspoon and new boyfriend Jim Toth watched her son Deacon playing in a soccer game at a Recreation Center in Brentwood on May 8th, 2010. "[After the game] Deacon came running over to Reese and Jim and they both looked very proud."
"Reese can't stop gushing about how
special Jim makes her feel and how great it is to have him around her
kids."
The couple, reportedly together since February, later attended the
wedding of Tom Hanks's son Colin to publicist Samantha Bryant on the
roof of a hotel in Hollywood.
"Even during the ceremony, Reese and Jim could barely keep their hands
off each other.
Jim had his arm around Reese and Reese kept leaning in to kiss him ...
The couple looked beyond happy together," the magazine reports an
eyewitness as saying. The couple have been making a habit of weekend
celebrations having also helped Jennifer Garner ring in her 38th
birthday last month.

Water for Elephants director Francis Lawrence tweeted that Marlena (Reese Witherspoon), Jacob (Robert Pattinson), August (Christoph Waltz) & Rosie (the elephant) were all rehearsing under the big top!

We’ve got to admit, Seth Rogen and Chris
Pine are two of our favorite men in Hollywood right now, and they’re
both pretty sought after commodities. So when TheWrap learned that they
might soon be starring in a film together, our attention was piqued.
Of course, the potential casting reminded us immediately of the unlikely
match of Seth and James Franco in “Pineapple Express,” which turned out
to be perfect because of their pitch-perfect chemistry together. While
Seth and Chris haven’t worked together previously like Seth and James
did in “Freak and Geeks,” we still think the comparison fits.
While neither Seth nor Chris have been confirmed for a role in Fox’s
long-in-production romantic comedy “This Means War,” TheWrap seems to
believe they are the two most likely candidates to land the parts. Each
would hypothetically play best friends whose friendship is torn apart
after a woman (Reese Witherspoon) moves into their spare room. Their
fighting gets so violent that they end up destroying such important New
York City landmarks as the Empire State Building and the Statue of
Liberty. McG is set to direct it.
The plot seems a little hokey, but we like the idea of Seth and Chris
fighting over Reese in a romantic comedy. And it turns out we weren’t so
far off on our “Pineapple Express” comparison. James Franco had
originally been offered the role of one of the best friends, but has
since turned it down. TheWrap seems to think Seth would move over and
take the part James gave up, thus allowing him to star opposite Chris.
Fox has been chasing a number of high-profile actors for the character
of FDR (one of the best friends and the role for which Seth and Chris
had originally been short-listed), according to Production Weekly. In
addition to Seth and Chris, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon are
potential candidates. But TheWrap got news that Robert isn’t considering
the role and that Matt hasn’t even looked at the script yet, which is
what helped lead them to their assumption.
“This Means War” was originally purchased by Fox in 1998, which means
the project has been sitting in production hell for more than 12 years.
While the film now has Reese and McG attached and the script is getting
a rewrite from “Role Models’” Tim Dowling, there are no guarantees when
or if the film will hit theaters. Still, the idea of Seth and Chris
starring opposite each other is enough to get us excited enough to keep
an eye on the project into the future.
Canadian indie producers Brightlight
Pictures and Rhombus Media have joined up with Reese Witherspoon’s Type
A Films to develop “Under the Bridge,” a true-crime feature about the
1997 murder of a 14 year-old Canadian high school student.
Witherspoon in 2007 initially optioned Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the
gruesome murder of Reena Virk by eight fellow students under a small
bridge in Saanich, B.C.
Virk’s death, and the subsequent trial and convictions of her slayers,
provoked a national debate among Canadians over high school bullying and
violence.
Vancouver-based Brightlight and Toronto-based Rhombus will partner with
Type A Films to develop “Under the Bridge.”
Shawn Williamson and Stephen Hegyes will produce for Brightlight, Niv
Fichman for Rhombus and Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Simpson will
produce for Type A Films.
No word on creative elements and casting.
Brightlight and Rhombus most recently co-produced “Gunless,” a comic
western starring Paul Gross and Sienna Guillory, and directed by William
Philips, set for theatrical release here on April 30 by Alliance Films.

Reese Witherspoon and her boyfriend Jim Toth take Reese's kids, Ava and Deacon, to the "Big 5" sports store in Santa Monica, where they purchased a mini soccer goalpost set. Nice pics.
In
a hot new pictorial in the May issue of Men's Health (out next Tuesday),
the actor reveals his chiseled, super-buff physique -- but in his
interview, he shows a softer side, too.
"I still have sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce,"
Phillippe, 35, tells the magazine of his 2006 split from Reese
Witherspoon. (The couple had been married for nearly 7 years and share
kids Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.)
But he likens the breakup -- also marred by allegations that he cheated
on Witherspoon with actress Abbie Cornish -- to a trauma. "How
beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings? If someone lives
through an accident, his aim is to become better and healthy."
The in-shape actor adds optimistically: "My aim is always to progress
--- to make better decisions and be a better father, a better boyfriend,
a better husband if it happens again."
The MacGruber star says he also revels in being a dad -- and cooking for
his two kids, even at 6 in the morning.
"There's something about the kids knowing the parent is making the food
for them with love," he says. "My kids think I'm an amazing cook, and
that's all that matters."
Ava and Deacon even motivate his daunting workout routines. "I like
feeling strong...I want to throw my kids up in the air and wrestle them.
Working out has become about functionality."
The star had a more free-wheeling conversation with Howard Stern on his
Sirius XM radio show Monday. "I've been dumped on in the press for
relationship stuff since Reese [Witherspoon] and I divorced," he told
Stern. "I'm tired of getting s*** on."

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon
believes US First Lady Michelle Obama is hot and more of a fashionista
than Elle Woods. Ms. Witherspoon spoke at 4th annual International Women
of Courage awards and brought back Elle, her character from the film
“Legally Blonde” for a helpful comparison with Mrs. Obama.
“It is truly an honor to be here today,” Witherspoon said. “As an
actress, I’ve always sought out roles that portrayed women as strong and
powerful — such as Elle Woods . . . who happened to be the biggest
fashionista who ever came to Washington — until Michelle Obama.”
From SplashNews.com:
Little Ava Phillippe - Reese
Witherspoon’s 11-year-old daughter - looks just like her mom did when
she was a teen! Reese was only 15 when she starred in The Man In The
Moon in 1991, but she looks EXACTLY like Reese did back then!
Though she does also slightly resemble her dad Ryan Phillippe, the
little girl will probably only grow to look more and more like her mom -
which is not such a bad thing considering how gorgeous the star is now!

Reese and her children Deacon Reese Phillippe and Ava Elizabeth Phillippe attend the annual White House Easter Egg Roll at the South Lawn April 5, 2010 in Washington, DC. The White House Easter Egg Roll is a tradition dating back to 1878 during the presidency of President Rutherford B. Hayes. Reese Witherspoon was all dressed in white this weekend at The White House Easter Egg Roll. She wore a white shift dress, cream bag, and cream heels. She attended the event with her daughter Ava and son Deacon. The White bag signals the beginning of Spring and Summer. There are many fresh options this season from many different designers.
Reese, the kids at The White House
Easter Egg Roll were so excited to hear you read to them! It’s so
obvious you are a hands-on mom who has read tons of books to your own
children!
Reese obviously has a TON of experience reading children’s books to her
kids Deacon and Ava. Reese was asked by President Barack Obama and First
Lady Michelle Obama to read “The Best Pet Of All” during the Story Time
Sage portion of the 2010 Easter Egg Roll at The White House on Apr. 5. -
and she really is so animated and engaging!

It’s been a long time since we saw the names Ryan and Reese in the same conversation, but in Hollywood, exes have a very funny way of creeping back into someone’s life…and conversation. And it seems that even Reese Witherspoon is not exempt from this, as here she is seen out and about shopping at the trendy Brentwood Country Mart looking just ever so fabulous. But you know, what’s really going on with her? It sounds like her and Ryan are being found in the same conversation again, as former Hollywood golden couple Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe seem to be following a suspiciously similar relationship trajectory. We would think someone as sweet and seemingly innocent as Reese Witherspoon wouldn’t have much to gab about, but….really? Let’s see if we can follow these two. Phillippe split with long-time girlfriend, Australian actress Abbie Cornish a month ago just after Witherspoon bid adieu to her leading man of two years, actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Now the parents of two have been spotted holding hands in public for the first time with their new flames - within days of each other. The “New York Post” reports Phillippe walked into the launch party for Snoop Doggs latest album at the Roosevelt Hotel on Monday night - Witherspoon’s birthday - holding a pretty brunette’s hand and kissing her throughout the bash. A source said the mystery woman was in her 20s, had long dark brown hair and wore “very tight jeans,” adding that she and Phillippe shared four bottles of champagne with friends. Just two days before, Witherspoon had been photographed enjoying a cozy birthday weekend getaway with her hunky new boyfriend, CAA agent Jim Toth. The low-key duo was snapped in ball caps and sweats, strolling hand-in-hand through a farmer’s market in Ojai, California, where the bubbly blonde star has a vacation home. They were papped again mid-week back in L.A. loading up on groceries and wine and looking very much like a comfortable old married couple. Life and Style magazine reports the lovebirds have gone from casual to committed in a matter of weeks. “They spend several nights a week together,” said a source, adding that Toth, who had a reputation for being a player in the past, lost his father last year and has since “reassessed his life.” “Jim feels it’s time to settle down. He’s definitely grown up from his younger days as a cocky agent.” While Witherspoon, 34, seems to be focused these days on revelling in her red-hot relationship, her career is about to take centre stage again. She recently signed up to star in “The Pioneer Woman,” about a woman who falls in love with a cowboy while on a cross-country road trip and winds up living on an Oklahoma ranch. The LA Times reports the Oscar-winner is also in talks to star in the new rodeo love story, “Paper Wings,” opposite Tom Cruise, who would play a rodeo champion who falls for an up-and-coming country singer, played by Witherspoon. Well, it is sweet that Reese has a smile on her face again, and since we like her so much, we won’t whine about where the smile is coming from. As for Ryan? Well, it doesn’t sound like he’s changed much, has it? And it seems that the only way he can get back in the same sentence with Reese Witherspoon is if he is seen with a drunk skank on the night of Reese’s birthday. Shocking. |

Reese may soon be singing country music again for an upcoming movie. Reese is reported to be co-starring with Tom Cruise in a romance film called “Paper Wings.” Reese has already won an Oscar for best actress, playing a country singer in “Walk The Line.”“Paper Wings” is to be about a rodeo champion who falls in love with a singer on the verge of stardom. Looks like Tom Cruise is re-inventing his action-adventure persona, and becoming a “action-romance” actor. His new film with Cameron Diaz, “Knight And Day” hits theaters in June.

EXCLUSIVE: Who says blogging is a dead-end existence?
Columbia Pictures has made a deal to develop The Pioneer Woman, a romantic
comedy that's being shaped as a potential star vehicle for Reese Witherspoon.
The studio has acquired rights to thepioneerwoman.com, a blog by Ree Drummond
that details how a detour on a trip from L.A. to Chicago led her to Oklahoma.
There, she met the cowboy of her dreams and transformed from spoiled city girl
to domestic ranch wife.
Laura Ziskin and Pam Williams will produce. Drummond wrote a bestselling
cookbook, and has turned her homespun tales into Black Heels to Tractor Wheels,
a book that will be published by William Morrow next Valentine’s Day.
Drummond has a large following for a blog she writes from the cattle ranch that
covers everything from cooking to tips on home schooling. The film will explore
the fantasy of trading big city living for a wholesome simpler life. Rights to
the book are part of the deal brokered by UTA and LJK Literary Management.
